Random writing

Back at uni, and I currently feel that my writing is painfully lacking in necessary clarity for what I am being asked to do this year. So I may as well reactivate this blog for practice at writing. Mostly I'll just be tossing ideas as they come out, not to argue for them, but mostly at this stage just to publicly express them. I feel I need to improve at that. Today, my understanding of the Enlightenment in the view of Michel Foucault:
The Enlightenment is the first era of knowledge in which the people constructing the knowledge of the era consciously asked themselves what their purpose was in constructing the knowledge of the era (asking themselves and trying to answer the question "What is the Enlightenment?").
